Methods to impede GPS signal reception

The rise of the Internet of Things has led to an increasing demand for location services. According to certain institutions, it is predicted that 60% of Internet of Things devices will rely on geographical location data. Outdoor positioning, in particular, is expected to be a significant market that should not be overlooked.

The GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is a highly esteemed international club comprising of merely four members, which garners the interest of global leaders and the scrutiny of numerous esteemed scientists and engineers. These four members include the GPS of the United States, GALILEO Galileo of Europe, GLONASS of Russia, and Beidou COMPASS of China.

There are four prominent satellite navigation systems worldwide, including China’s Beidou satellite navigation system, the United States Global Positioning System (GPS), the European Union’s Galileo satellite system (GALILEO), and Russia’s GLONASS satellite system (GLONASS). These four systems are acknowledged as suppliers by the United Nations Satellite Navigation Committee.

China Beidou is a recent addition, yet it stands out as the most dynamic member in terms of development. What exactly is Beidou and how does it influence our daily lives? The GPS satellite positioning system is widely utilized across the globe as the primary satellite positioning system. It enables vehicle tracking, route navigation, information inquiry, traffic command, emergency assistance, and various other functions. While the GPS satellite positioning system has brought significant convenience to our lives, it has also given rise to certain challenges that pose a potential threat to personal safety.

The mortgage car company, for instance, temporarily gains control of the car by providing funds to the original owner. To prevent any unauthorized access by the original owner, these companies purchase and install GPS shields in the vehicle’s parking lot and on the car itself. This ensures that the original owner cannot track the vehicle, thereby safeguarding the property’s security.

With the expanding GPS locator market, individuals who wish to avoid GPS signal tracking are increasingly seeking out GPS signal blockers. These blockers are designed to prevent tracking, but it is important to determine if they truly deliver on their promise.

Most GPS locators can be effectively shielded by
gps blocker. The use of blockers disrupts the normal functioning of the GPS locator, preventing complete data transmission to the locator monitoring platform. Similar to mobile phones, GPS locators require the insertion of a mobile phone card or an Internet of Things card to retrieve data. Therefore, as long as the GPS signal blocker can obstruct the signal transmission of the mobile phone card, it can also block the GPS locator.

Any person found using it in the United States will be in breach of federal law

What to Do if Authorized Communication is Being Jammed

Do you suspect that a signal jammers may be causing interference? Bad network connections can be caused by a variety of factors including:

    • faulty equipment

Cell Phone Jamming is Prohibited in the USA

Like many countries, the United States prohibits the employment of mobile signal jammer in practically every use case.

According to the Federal Communications Commission, “Federal law prohibits the operation, marketing, or sale of any type of jamming equipment that interferes with authorized radio communications, including cellular and Personal Communication Services (PCS), police radar, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).”

It is also illegal to sell, distribute, advertise, import, or market jamming devices to consumers in the United States. The use or marketing of a jammer in the U.S. may subject a person to:

      1. significant monetary penalties (fines of up to $11,000)
      2. seizure of the unlawful equipment
      3. criminal sanctions including imprisonment

There are no exemptions for use within a residence, business, vehicle, or classroom. Local law enforcement agencies do not have independent authority to use jamming equipment. Jamming equipment employment by federal law enforcement agencies is authorized in accordance with applicable statutes only in certain limited exceptions.

Though signal jamming is prohibited, cell phone detectors are legal in the United States.

Cell Phone Jammers – 3 Reasons Why They’re Illegal

Cell phone jammers can prevent you and other persons from making 911 and other emergency calls. They can also create dangerous risks to public safety communications in addition to interfering with other forms of daily communication.

It is imperative to empower state prisons with the ability to control the presence of cellphones within their premises

State prosecutors from various regions are once again appealing to Congress to enact legislation that would grant state prisons the authority to disrupt cellphone signals used by inmates. These prosecutors assert that these devices enable prisoners to plan acts of violence and commit criminal activities.

The 22 prosecutors, comprising entirely of Republicans and led by South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, have penned a letter to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. In this letter, they emphasize the necessity for Congress to enact legislation that grants states the power to establish a cell phone jamming system. The primary objective behind this system is to safeguard inmates, guards, and the general public.

Wilson’s office has stated that they intend to contact Democratic state prosecutors, emphasizing that the matter at hand is not a partisan one.

The attorneys have submitted a letter to The Associated Press, wherein they mention a few criminal incidents that were supposedly orchestrated by inmates using unauthorized cellphones. These incidents involve a drug conspiracy in Tennessee and a double homicide that was allegedly ordered by an inmate from Indiana.

In addition, reference was made to a gang-related siege that occurred in 2018, lasting over seven hours at a prison in South Carolina, resulting in the tragic loss of seven inmates. A chilling account from one inmate depicted the horrifying scene of bodies piled on top of each other, resembling a grotesque stack of wood. Authorities responsible for corrections attributed the orchestrated violence, which marked the most severe prison riot in the United States in the past 25 years, partly to the presence of illicit cellphones.

The prosecutors argued that the prevention of inmates’ access to contraband cell phones would serve as a crucial measure in thwarting the occurrence of significant drug trafficking, deadly riots, and other criminal acts.

Prosecutors are advocating for a modification in a long-standing federal communications law that presently prohibits state prisons from employing jamming signal technology to render illicit cell signals useless. This alteration is crucial in order to counteract the methods used to transport phones, such as concealing them within hollowed-out footballs, smuggling them in through corrupt employees, and occasionally even dropping them via drones.

The endeavor to crack down on illegal cellphones within state prisons has persisted for several years, spearheaded by South Carolina Corrections Director Bryan Stirling. He has been leading a nationwide campaign among corrections directors to advocate for the utilization of advanced technology in order to combat the proliferation of contraband phones.

In 2021, a significant triumph was achieved when the Federal Communications Commission embraced a regulation enabling state prison systems to seek permits for the purpose of detecting and disabling illicit cell signals, individually and in partnership with mobile network providers. Although South Carolina took the initiative to apply for this technology, Stirling informed AP on Tuesday that no progress has been made regarding the state’s application.

Stirling mentioned that federal prisons possess the capability to disrupt cell signals within their confines; however, they have refrained from implementing this measure thus far.

CTIA, a wireless industry group, is against the use of jamming technology due to its potential to disrupt lawful phone calls. Nevertheless, as stated in a 2020 FCC document, CTIA informed the commission that it has been successfully working with its member companies to terminate service to unauthorized devices in accordance with court orders they have obtained.

Calling combating contraband phones “a serious issue,” CTIA officials said in a statement to the AP that the “wireless industry remains committed to working with corrections officials and policymakers at all levels of government to implement effective solutions that combat contraband phones while protecting lawful communications.”

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has yet to provide a response to an email inquiry regarding the renewed efforts to implement jamming technology.

In the past, the issue of jamming legislation has been brought up in Congress, however, no bills pertaining to this matter have been enacted or even discussed in a hearing. U.S. Senator Tom Cotton, a Republican from Arkansas, reintroduced a similar proposal during the previous Congress in August.

“We’re not going to stop advocating,” Wilson told AP on Tuesday. “I can only hope that at some point, Congress is going to take note.”

The pandemic has resulted in a sharp escalation in the number of reported cheating incidents within colleges

The utilization of 5G signal jammers has gained momentum as the exam draws near. These jammers are being actively promoted and employed, particularly in major schools where exam mobile phone jammer can be observed in exam rooms. The increasing installation of this equipment in schools begs the question: what is the reason behind it?

Power Adjustable Jammer

Mariam Aly, an assistant professor at Columbia University, has implemented various strategies to deter her students from engaging in cheating. In her cognitive neuroscience class, she grants her students a week to finalize an open-book exam. Furthermore, as an integral part of this exam, all the approximately 180 students enrolled in the course must endorse an honor code.

However, the act of cheating persists. Addressing student misconduct, she expresses that it is the most challenging aspect of her profession. Aly states, “It creates an uncomfortable and distressing situation for all parties involved.” She further adds, “It is difficult to assign blame in such circumstances. One cannot help but feel a sense of disappointment and frustration.”

She recognizes that her students are grappling with unparalleled levels of stress and uncertainty, and she can relate to their situation as she never experienced attending school during a pandemic.

The popularity of something is solely determined by the demand it receives. This is primarily due to the increasing prevalence of cheating in recent years, with the frequent emergence of various alarming cheating techniques.

To effectively resolve the problem, a specific type of shielding equipment is utilized within the examination room to counter the cheating caused by electronic signals. This equipment’s introduction greatly benefits a multitude of examinations, prompting an escalating number of individuals to opt for its implementation as a means to deter cheating.

This particular type of examination signal blocker has the capability to efficiently obstruct the communication signals of 5G mobile phones, as well as effectively hinder 2.4G and 5.8G WIFI signals. Consequently, individuals utilizing mobile phones or specific electronic devices will be unable to transmit or receive signals within the designated range of this shielding device.

Irrespective of the merchandise, solely this assurance can guarantee equity to individuals taking exams, and this examination signal jammer operates in an exceptionally tranquil and noiseless manner. This protective technique poses no harm to the human body whatsoever, allowing candidates to undertake the examination with a sense of serenity.
